Hundreds to shine bright at Illumination Parade

LANTERN making is serious business for some on the Fraser Coast.

More than 350 people had registered to shine bright in the Illumination Lantern Parade and Concert, a Fraser Coast Opportunities spokeswoman said.

The Illumination Lantern Parade and Concert is on Saturday from 4pm at Pialba's Seafront Oval.

But more participants for the popular whale parade are still expected to attend with registrations open until 6.30pm that night.

Prior to the parade, live performance from Brandon Woods and Derek F Smith will keep crowds entertained.

But at 6.30pm, it's light, cameras and action for the lantern procession which departs from Zephyr St.

Charlton Esplanade will become illuminated by the parade's travels towards the Seafront Oval parade journey end point.

A cooking demonstration by Dan and Steph will entertain those who remain at the oval entertained for the parade's duration.

Tunes by Indie rock band Faleepo FrancisCo will be blasted across the oval in the lead up to main act, Ella Hooper, former Killing Heidi sensation.

But don't forget the Torquay Hotel after party, which will commence at 10pm.

Concert goers are invited to attend for could be a night to remember.
