School holiday boredom busters

IF THE teenagers are crying bored this school holidays pack them on to the bus and send them to the Gold Coast.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council and Hervey Bay PCYC have jointly organised a bus trip to the coast’s theme parks but you will have to be quick to get a seat because tickets are selling fast.

On January 20 the kids can go to Dreamworld and White Water World for just $20.

Parent permission is required, with permission forms able to be downloaded from the council’s youth website under the community tab at www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au.

The bus leaving Hervey Bay is fully booked but there are still seats available for kids living in Howard, Maryborough and Tiaro.

Call Sue on 4197 4330 for information. Money and permission forms have to be received by the council by January 15.

Teenagers wanting to stay closer to home are spoilt for choice with a Teen Scene program run by the Hervey Bay PCYC.

Kids aged 13-16 can take part in activities like kayaking, barefoot bowls, surfing, go-karts and a dance party.

Younger children haven’t been forgotten this school holidays.

The Fraser Coast’s libraries at Tiaro, Maryborough, Burrum Heads and Hervey Bay have activities for children throughout January.

For a small cost kids can make Chinese lanterns, dream catchers, mardi gras masks or denim creations.

Contact your local library for dates and to book a place.
