Lung condition seminar to be held

IF YOU have a chronic lung condition such as chronic obstructive airways disease (bronchitis, emphysema), bronchiectasis or asthma then a special seminar may be of interest to you.

Qld Health and the Australian Lung Foundation are holding an information seminar on Monday, March 29, in the education centre at Hervey Bay Hospital.

It will start at 9am and run until 12.30pm and is free.

Speakers will include a physiotherapist, pharmacist, nurse, and occupational therapist and the topics covered will help people to manage their condition.

Fraser Coast Health Service community physiotherapist Isabel Read says the morning is just one way Fraser Coast residents will be able to expand on their understanding of chronic lung conditions and how they can have a better lifestyle.

“We want to educate people to also try and prevent the onset of more chronic diseases which continue to rise as our population grows and gets older,” Ms Read says.

To attend the seminar your spot must be reserved by Wednesday, March 24. To do so call Ms Read on 4122 8733.
