Investigating vegetation removal
THE DEPARTMENT of Transport and Main Roads is investigating the removal of vegetation in the road reserve near the Maryborough-Hervey Bay Road and Moes Road intersection.
Any work completed on state-controlled road reserves, including the clearing of trees and other vegetation, requires a permit from the department.
As part of the preliminary works for the $17.1 million project on the Maryborough-Hervey Bay Road, the fence where the Hillcrest Pet Resort sign was originally attached has been relocated.
The sign has now been placed on the new fence.
The vegetation between the old and new fence will soon be cleared as part of the project.
The project also includes widening and strengthening a 3.6km section of road between Torbanlea-Pialba Road and Dundowran Road and realigning the existing Torbanlea-Pialba Road and Booral Road intersections with a new roundabout.
The project is expected to start in the next few weeks, weather permitting.
