Irish theme for QCWA

BACK in the ’60s Tiaro’s Philomena Grimwade travelled to Ireland and kissed the Blarney Stone.

She has been given the chance to reflect on some of her fond memories from her trip this year as she helps to organise International Day for the Tiaro branch of the Country Women’s Association on October 9 where the theme will be the Republic of Ireland.

The group has been busy coming up with artefacts, photos and books on Ireland.

“We’ll also have plenty of Irish music.”

Ms Grimwade isn’t the only member of the group who has been to Ireland – Barbara Patterson also visited the country this year and the group is hoping she will share some tales of her adventure with them on the day.

The event will be held from 9am at the Queensland Country Women’s Association Hall in Tiaro, at 35 Mayne Street.

Cost of entry will be $4.
