It was so hot the ring bearer fainted and the cake melted

WHEN Cindy Parks and David Streeter said "I do" it was so hot, Cindy was worried the make-up would melt off her face.

In fact, it was so hot, the ring bearer fainted and the icing ran off the cake.

Her sister started laughing during the vows --- Cindy is not sure why --- and that made the groom laugh.

But nothing could ruin this country wedding at Cindy and David Streeter's Bouldercombe property - not even all the groomsmen wearing sunglasses.

"When I got there I quietly tried to say, sunglasses, really?," Cindy said.

"But the celebrant Judy Whicker stopped everything and told them to take them off."

You couldn't blame the boys for thinking it was a casual moment - when Cindy and David decided to tie the knot it was in the car park at Stocklands Shopping Centre Rockhampton.

"I didn't mind, I just wanted to marry him," Cindy said.

And once they were married Cindy took off to the local shop to make sure her friend, who couldn't make it, didn't miss out.

They drove there in two Ford Territory trucks, and jumped behind the counter - tiara, wedding dress and all - and served a few customers as Mrs Cindy Streeter.

The trucks were even decorated with ribbons and butterflies because the bridal party pulled up at the service station on the way to ceremony.

"It was so hot I thought my make-up would melt off," Cindy said.

"So I had to go in and get a bottle of water. The staff asked me, who's party? I said no no, it's my wedding day.

"When I got there everything looked so beautiful I wanted to cry.

"I just focused on David and got through it."

Cindy and David honeymooned for five days at Cania Gorge.
