Janette Dines resigns from RC into child sex abuse

THE chief executive of the royal commission into child sexual abuse Janette Dines has resigned.

Ms Dines had held the position with the commission since late 2012, the ABC has reported.

A reason for the resignation has not yet been made public.

The royal commission, led by Justice Peter McClellan, is due to hold two days of private sessions in Adelaide from Thursday.

Justice McClellan said Ms Dines has been the driving force behind the establishment of the office of the royal commission.

Ms Dines said she was pleased to leave the commission in good shape to meet the challenges ahead.
