Jeweller takes to social media to try to catch thief

A FURIOUS Hervey Bay jewellery maker has taken to social media in an effort to track down a brazen thief who stole two of her bracelets.

Sue Connors runs a stall with her husband at a number of markets around Hervey Bay and on Sunday, an unknown person swiped two crystal and pearl bracelets Sue had spent hours designing and making.

Sue said she was heartbroken by the loss of the bracelets at the Scarness market, but she quickly logged onto Facebook to do something about it.

She has asked people to keep an eye out for anyone wearing the jewellery and to let her know if they have any suspicions so she can then give that information to the police.

Sue said the bracelets were rare and should stand out, as she was one of only two designers in Australia to use the components the jewellery was made from because the company that made them has since gone out of business.

She said anyone with any information could contact her by sending a message on either of her two Facebook pages - SueNique Designs, Kawungan or her personal page under her name.
