Former Cowboys under 20 player joins new gym

FORMER Queensland Rugby League and Cowboys under 20 player Joel McCrea has been working up a sweat at Hervey Bay's new 24-hour gym, Lyfestyle.

A pump operator by day, the 25-year-old who now plays for a Bundaberg team goes to the gym every day to work out on his fitness and to impress his fiancee.

The gym, on Beach Rd in Pialba, opened on September 8.

"I'm getting married in two weeks, so I want to look good for my future wife," the Hervey Bay resident said.

"I heard about the gym from a friend so I gave it a try when it opened.

"I liked it immediately and signed up straight away.

"I like that it's close to my house and it's open 24 hours so I can come here before I start work and work according to my schedule."

Gym manager Leigh Robertson said since the gym opened, 270 members had signed up.
