Junior golf is great, no matter what the weather
IT WAS fabulous to see 14 juniors turn up for a morning on the golf course, even with bunkers like ponds and fairways with puddles, there was some great golf played.
We have a new kid on the tee block, Kaitlyn. It was her second round in the junior competition and she won the gross winner for the day.
Sophie was close behind, winning the nett 11 and putts 8. James had a gross of 23 and 10 putts. Finial had a gross of 25 and 11 putts. Phoebe 27 gross and 12 putts.
With the usual duo heading off for the six hole competition, it was Miss Natalie won the gross of the day 37 and took out putts with 13.
Master Boston was only two shots off with 39 gross, but was happy with the nett win 26 and putts 16.
It all started on the first hole for the three boys.
Trees, what trees?
Oh yes, between the three they played some mighty fine recovery shots, but in the end Travis had a personal best of 52, which won him the gross for the day.
However, Travis did not stop there, he also won NTP and had 15 putts. It was Ben with his mummy caddie this week winning the nett 35, gross 63 and he also won best putting with 14. Zane had 71 gross and 22 putts, which included a nice par putt on the seventh hole.
With no-one to play 13 holes this week, Kai was happy to step it up to 18 holes for the day, which made a nice group of four players.
Lydia, Lydia, Lydia - winner winner chicken dinner. What else can you say? Winning the gross for the day with a round of 86, 30 putts nice.
