Junior sedans to compete in new series

JUNIOR speedway drivers have the opportunity to compete in a brand new series.

The Junior Sedan Speedweek will see the youngest speedway drivers compete in a four-night series at three venues.

The series starts at Gympie's Mothar Mountain on December 28, before the next two rounds are held at Maryborough Speedway on December 29-30.

The Maryborough races double as the junior sedans' Silver Crown.

The series will culminate with the fourth round race at Toowoomba's Hi-Tec Oils Speedway on December 31.

The new format provides drivers the chance to compete in a new series against varied opposition at different tracks.

Maryborough Speedway president Wayne Moller said the series simply combined several individual races into another major event.

The fourth night of the Speedweek coincides with the third night of Maryborough Speedway's huge three-night program at the end of December.
