KATTER'S Australian Party leader and Federal member for Kennedy Bob Katter has made a flying visit to the Fraser Coast to announce candidates for Hinkler, Flynn and Fairfax.

Hervey Bay's David Dalgleish, a former state MP and councillor, was announced as KAP's candidate for Hinkler.

While in Hervey Bay, Mr Katter slammed the performance of Member for Maryborough Anne Maddern and Member for Hervey Bay Ted Sorensen.

"I strongly urge you people to realise that you've got to get better members of parliament," he said.

David Dalgleish said he would stand up for the electorate.

"I'm not interested in towing any party line, I'm interested in standing up and representing the people who elect me," he said.

"What we're having now is the State Government passing down all of these extra charges and the local government is passing them onto the ratepayers.

"They're pushing us out of our own homes."

When asked if he supported controlled killing of Fraser Island dingoes, Mr Katter said: "we prefer the word culling".

"We are an anti-greens party," he said.

"We've got nature out of whack.

"We 're talking about brining back the numbers and bringing the balance back."
