Kaufusi brothers make Pacific Test Tonga side

LEAGUE: Bundaberg's Patrick and Felise Kaufusi remain in contention to play in this year's Rugby League World Cup after being picked for Tonga to play this weekend.

Both have been selected in a 21-man squad to take on Fiji after stellar starts to this year's NRL season.

The Melbourne Storm's Felise has been picked at second row, with North Queensland Cowboy Patrick named on an extended bench for the match.

It is the second year in a row the duo has been selected for the Test series with Patrick and Felise to make their second and third appearances respectively for the nation if picked.

The former Past Brothers pair join Will Hopoate, Daniel Tupou, Michael Jennings and Andrew Fifita in a star-studded line-up.

"This is the first time since I've been involved that every player is coming straight from an elite NRL system,” Tonga coach Kristian Woolf said to the official website.

"It's the most talented group we've ever assembled, so if we work hard as a team next Saturday against Fiji, I've got no doubt we'll fulfil our potential,” Woolf said.

Tonga will play this Saturday at Campbelltown Oval at 5.30pm.
