Killer dogs' fate to be kept secret

THE Fraser Coast Regional Council has completed its investigation into a recent dog attack in Booral that saw 13 pet sheep savaged to death in two separate incidents just days apart.

The pair of canines responsible for the assault was collared on September 28 and has been impounded by council since. But in a canine twist, Fraser Coast Mayor Gerard O'Connell said while investigations were complete, privacy laws prevented council from sharing the decision with the public or the victims. That aside, he said Booral residents had offered great assistance to council in its investigation.

"The incident has highlighted the need for pet owners to ensure that their animals are adequately fenced and cannot stray," Mr O'Connell said.
