Labor endorses software developer to stand for Wide Bay
A BUSINESSWOMAN from the Noosa hinterland has been endorsed as Labor's Wide Bay candidate for the federal election.
Software developer Lucy Stanton was endorsed earlier this week, but has already appeared at rallies against job cuts in Maryborough.
Mrs Stanton said she was deeply concerned about the Newman Government's cuts to the Maryborough Hospital.
"We need a greater emphasis on regional development in Wide Bay, she said.
"More needs to be done to develop local industries."
Mrs Stanton lives in Boreen Point.
Labor has already endorsed candidate Leanne Donaldson to stand in the Hinkler electorate, which covers Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.
