Lamington Bridge re-opened
THE Lamington Bridge over the Mary River between Maryborough and Tinana has been re-opened to cars, with a 40kmh limit.
Because the railings have been removed, pedestrians will not be allowed to cross the bridge.
The bridge may close again as a second flood peak is expected to cause the Mary River to rise again tomorrow.
Council and Department of Transport and Main Roads Main will reassess the situation after the second flood peak passes.
If there is no risk of further inundation, arrangements will be made for the railings to be replaced, and the bridge will return to normal use.
