See Burrum Heads boat ramp concepts and costs at meeting

BURRUM Heads Progress Association president Ron Gregson says a February 19 meeting is a must for anyone wanting to have personal input into the town's new boat ramp.

Both the State Government and Member for Maryborough Anne Maddern remained tight-lipped when asked for details of the concepts set to be unveiled.

But Mr Gregson said regardless of the designs and whether people supported the project, the Wednesday meeting might prove the public's final chance to make its feelings known.

Division 5 councillor Rolf Light said the meeting would be a chance for people to have their first real look at the region's newest boat ramp.

"People will be able to see the concepts and cost estimates that the department has worked up for a new ramp," Cr Light said.

"The department is developing detailed infrastructure assessments of options, concepts and cost estimates which will ultimately determine the most practical and functional boating facility."

New boat ramp facilities are built by the State Government with council funding the land-based facilities.

The meeting will be held at the Burrum Heads Community Hall on February 19 at 6pm.
