Kate Law fifth in her best US college tournament

MARYBOROUGH junior golf prodigy Kate Law is in the midst of her best performance since leaving Fraser Coast.

Law left Australia to take up a scholarship at East Carolina University, and at 18 is one of the youngest on the ECU Pirates' team.

Playing at the legendary Pinehurst course, Law was fifth (at time of print) after two rounds.

Shooting rounds of 70 and 69, Law is currently five-under par, just three shots behind leader Alessandra Liu.

In her ECU profile, Coach Kevin Williams described Law as someone who "possesses great athleticism and consistency in her golf swing", and said she was "a wonderful student"
