Legend of ballet in Maryborough this weekend

INTERNATIONAL ballet dancer Li Cunxin spent Friday afternoon meeting young dancers from across the Fraser Coast.

He is visiting in his role as artistic director for Queensland Ballet's performance of Giselle.

Mr Cunxin, who is better known as Mao's Last Dancer, has inspired millions around the globe through his journey from poverty.

"It's beautiful here and I'm looking forward to learning a little bit more about the Fraser Coast," Mr Cunxin said.

Tickets are still available for Saturday night's performance of Giselle and can be purchased by contacting the Brolga Theatre on 4122 6060.
