LETTER: Cultural groups should do more to find extremists

Law  abiding  Australians are faced every day with the prospect of Racial Inspired terrorism. Australia is a welcoming country for those who come to live in peace & by our standards.

It's time for the leaders of Islamic groups the Mufti & Iman  [to name a few]  to weed out the extremists in their culture.

Our Australian Government can't be blamed for everything .Why don't the leaders of Islamic groups take some responsibility, screen your members more thoroughly & keep the violent trouble makers from our shores?.

One year since the Lindt café massacre & nothing appears to have been done by the Islamic councils of Mufti & Islam to lead their young people away from terrorism.

Where are these young people being groomed & violence encouraged?

How can 15yr olds know how to maim or kill if they are not being taught by someone in their culture who is highly respected?

Where is this teaching taking place, in Mosques or in private homes?

We complain about bullies in our schools & in our work places yet nothing is done about this. Bullies are cowards who don't do their own "dirty work "but get someone else to  commit the crime for them.

It's about time for all Muslins who want to live in peace to come forward, report to AFP & identify the perpetrators. After all it is the season of peace & goodwill so join with us to CELEBRATE.

Signed : Paul Eyre Thompson, Boyne Island  4680.
