Licence lost after driver caught doing 133kmh in 80kmh zone

A MOTORIST has automatically lost his licence after being caught doing 133kmh in an 80kmh zone on the Fraser Coast.

In a bad weekend for speeding, the man was one of 108 motorists caught driving over the speed limit in the Maryborough Police District over the long weekend, Senior Constable Melanie Ryan said.

Snr Const Ryan said eight people were also caught drink-driving, the highest blood-alcohol readings more than two times the limit.

"On a pleasing note, it was great to see motorists take on board driver safety messages such as fatigue," she said.

"Thankfully there were no major crashes on our roads."
