Ergon help improve tennis courts

FRASER Coast Tennis Association president Chip Barnes is thrilled with the improvements that have been made at the Dundowran tennis courts on Dundowran Road.

And thanks to the generosity of Ergon Energy the improvements just keep on coming with lights set to go up at the courts.

Ergon has donated the poles and the labour for the effort.

Ergon sent several workers down to the courts recently to install the poles and Mr Barnes said he was thrilled with the efforts from Ergon and their employees.

Barnes, along with tennis coach Tristan Brown, said community support for the new association was rapidly growing.

There are more than 215 members now signed with the club.

The association has also had plenty of local support from businesses.

They hope to provide better facilities for the enthusiastic young tennis players of the Fraser Coast at the northern end of Hervey Bay.

Mr Barnes said the association would continue to seek funding and sponsorship to continue improvements at the Dundowran courts.
