Lisa Clutterham in the running to replace Gillard for Lalor
ONE of the candidates in the running for preselection to replace Julia Gillard as the candidate for Lalor only joined the Labor Party last month.
The candidate, former diplomat Lisa Clutterham, also told ABC Radio in Melbourne she had never lived in Ms Gillard's electorate.
Ms Clutterham said, however, that her partner had visited family in Werribee, an outer Melbourne suburb in Lalor, during his Christmas holidays.
In a statement sent out to media after the radio interview, she wrote she "had not followed a traditional pathway" to preselection.
Ms Clutterham was among several candidates vying to replace Ms Gillard in the preselection process.
Others have included a school principal and the daughter of a senior Victorian Labor figure.
