Live-in rehab program to open

A LOCAL not-for-profit organisation is about to open its doors on a Christian residential rehabilitation program for Hervey Bay.

The 12-month live-in program is for sufferers of drug and alcohol addiction, eating disorders and life dysfunction, excluding those with records of sex offences or violence.

The residential program follows the proven curriculum of the Transformations centres already established across Australia and will transition residents through rehabilitation to basic life skills and work experience to job readiness.

Graduates are trained to re-enter the workforce free of their past problems and ready to take up employment in responsible positions in the community.

The camp, which will accommodate 30 residents, has on-site counsellors and psychology services available as well as access to local medical facilities.

Official opening and information session with afternoon tea is on Friday, October 15, at 3.30pm at Camp Barrawinga site at 234 Torquay Terrace, Torquay.
