Love Your Sister's Connie Johnson 'actively dying'

CONNIE JOHNSON, cancer research fundraiser, mum-of-two and founder of Love Your Sister, has entered hospice care and is "actively dying".

In a post shared to the Love Your Sister Facebook page, Connie's brother, Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson said that Connie was taking a break from social media to come to grips with what is to come, according to Kidspot.

"Con's needed a lot of quiet time lately to try and comprehend the total headf**kery that 'actively dying' brings," he wrote.

"She just rang from the Hospice (her view pictured) and admitted that this is the most difficult thing she's ever had to face, but in true Connie style she's been colouring in to keep the nasty thoughts at bay! She said to tell you that there's life in the old dog yet.

"She's as comfortable as can be and is being cared for superbly."

Among the over 5,000 messages of support were a number of personal stories from people walking their own personal journey of cancer or of supporting a loved one with cancer.

"That view brings back memories and tears to my eyes, 365 days ago today at just about this time too, my nan closed her eyes and took her final breath in this world. Sending love to all those who are fighting the sh**ty c word. Xxx," Nikki wrote.

"Beautiful view. My brother is terminal too. Difficult times. Xoxo," Sandra commented.

"Connie, you have raised awareness and grown a village that will support you during the hardest walk that you both are travelling," Christine wrote.
