Macy Gray graces Aussie stages

AMERICAN soul singer Macy Gray is in the country next week for her first Australian shows in more than a decade.

The Grammy Award winner will showcase her vocal prowess when she performs hits from all of her albums including songs off her seventh, highly acclaimed studio album Covered.

Gray is performing just four shows starting at the Sydney Opera House on September 16, followed by Jupiters on the Gold Coast on September 19, QPAC's Concert Hall in Brisbane on September 20 and finishing at the Arts Centre Melbourne on September 21.

QPAC show co-presenter David M Hawkins said it's a show not to be missed.

"This will be her first tour since 2000 of Australia and I am honoured to be presenting such a maverick artist in her long awaited return," he said.

"No one puts a concert on like Macy. The musicality of her relationship with the troop will astound you.

"The vibe never stops - it will shoot you to oblivion and back again."

Tickets for Gray's QPAC show are $99 and can be booked through 136 246 or the QPAC website, www.qpac.com.au.
