Magpies send Flames packing

MAGPIES of a hockey variety, and not the feathered kind, had their opposition on the run at Torquay’s McFie Park on Saturday.

The Hervey Bay Hockey Association women’s competition leaders eased into the finals this Saturday with an impressive 4-0 win against Fraser Flames.

Lauren Scholl scored twice while Laura McMahon and Leanne Wright also got their names of the scoresheet.

In the other game of the round, Brothers beat Youngbloods 2-0.

There was only one game played in the men’s competition but there was no lack of goals in it.

Honours finished even after the clash between Fraser Flames and Youngbloods ended in 6-all draw. The lead changed three times before the final whistle went.
