Make sure your vote counts on election day

WITH the recently announced federal election only 32 days away, time is quickly ticking down to update your electoral details.

On September 7, polling places will open at 8am and close at 6pm sharp.

If you have changed your address since the local elections last year you have until 8pm on August 12 to change your address online.

You are required by law to enrol if you are an Australian citizen or an eligible British subject, aged 18 years and over and have lived at your address for at least one month.

If you are 16 or 17, you can enrol now so that when you turn 18 you will be able to vote.

If you are unable to vote on election day you can vote early in person or by post.

Postal vote applications can be submitted up until September 5.
