Man, 45, bitten by brown snake on Gayndah property

A GAYNDAH man is lucky to have escaped serious injury after being bitten by a brown snake.

The father-of-three was bitten on the hand by the snake on a property at Gayndah on Thursday.

The man, 45, was trying to stop his Staffordshire Terrier from fighting the snake.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue airlifted the man from Gayndah Hospital to Bundaberg Hospital.

He is now in a stable condition.

The man's dog was unharmed in the incident.
