Man, 65, critical with severe burns following fire
UPDATE 8am: A REDBANK Plains man remains in a critical condition in hospital following a fire last night.
It is understood the fire started in the living room of a home but was extinguished before emergency services arrived.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said the man, 65, was found with full thickness burns to his upper face and body.
He also had significant airway burns.
The High Acuity Response team transported the man to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition.
A second patient was assessed on scene and did not require transportation.
Police are not treating the fire as suspicious.

EARLIER: POLICE are investigating a fire that occurred overnight in Redbank Plains.
Emergency services were called to a house on Rice Road around 6.20pm after reports of a fire in a room.
On arrival, the fire was put out and a 65-year-old man was taken to hospital where he is in a critical condition.
No one else was injured.
Police said investigations into the cause of the fire were continuing.
