Man accused of smashing into home with hammer granted bail

A MAN accused of breaking into a Torquay home using a hammer has been granted bail in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court.

Torquay's Daniel Aaron Mead, 33, is alleged to have smashed his way into the home using a hammer.

Pacific Haven's Steven Anthony Carr, 22, has also been charged in relation to the offence.

It is alleged that a male occupant at the home managed to restrain one of the men and the other man left the scene but was later apprehended by police.
