Man accused of trying to rob Torquay's Night Owl faces court

A MAN accused of trying to rob the Night Owl Convenience Store in Torquay will remain behind bars until Thursday.

Jason Shaun Lewis, 25, was arrested at the Hervey Bay Transit Centre about 4am on Tuesday.

In court later that day, he said he intended to plead not guilty to the charge of attempted armed robbery.

The court heard Lewis was also charged with another alleged robbery in Maroochydore from May 23.

Magistrate Graeme Tatnell said he would not consider bail until Lewis had a chance to speak with the duty lawyer tomorrow.

Lewis was remanded in custody.
