Man and two small children found dead in submerged car

POLICE divers have found the bodies of a man and two small children in a submerged car at Port Lincoln in South Australia. 

Just after 6am this morning, police were called to Brennan's Wharf after witnesses reported seeing a white car which appeared to deliberately drive off the end of the wharf and into the water. 

The car then quickly sank in up to 30 metres of water. 

Police divers from the SA Police Water Operation Section flew to Port Lincoln to assist in the underwater search for the car and any occupants.

Divers reported at around 12.30pm that three bodies were found inside the car. 

The bodies have been removed and are yet to be formally identified. They are believed to be known to each. 

Port Lincoln CIB, Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Branch, Forensic experts and officers from Major Crash are investigating the incident.

Anyone who saw a white Ford station wagon at Port Lincoln this morning before 6am is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
