10.45am: Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon has spoken with the media this morning said it was fortunate that a police patrol was one street away when a man robbed a store last night.

Det Snr Sgt Moon told the media due to this, police were able to track the 19-year-old man who allegedly robbed a Park Avenue store with a tyre iron relatively fast.

 

5.30am: A 19-year-old man has been charged following investigations into an alleged armed robbery at Park Avenue last night.

It will be alleged at 7.50pm, a man armed with a tyre iron entered the a Main Street Foodworks store and threatened two staff members - a 23-year-old Frenchville man and a 17-year-old West Rockhampton woman.

It will be further alleged the man left the store on foot with a quantity of money.

A man was located nearby on Thomasson Street near the Bertram Street intersection.

No-one was physically injured.

A 19-year-old Berserker man is scheduled to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Monday night: POLICE arrested a male in relation to an incident at a North Rockhampton Foodworks store shortly before 8pm.

Initial reports suggest the man allegedly held up the store and stole cash while armed with a crowbar.
