Man gets stuck in sewer outside city strip club

A MAN stuck down a sewer outside the city's strip club for a number of hours was freed after an unusual rescue mission last night.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were first called to the scene about 8.55pm outside The Vault on Ruthven.

The initial report was a man was down the sewer outside and under the CBD venue.

QFES crews removed the sewer drain cap and removed the man when Queensland Ambulance paramedics assessed him at the scene.

With no obvious injuries, the man was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition for a general check-up.

It is understood the man was in the drain for a number of hours before he was rescued.

It is not known why the man was in the sewer or how he got there.
