Man held over four-wheel drive crash into house

A MAN who allegedly ploughed a four-wheel drive through the front window of a house has had his court case adjourned.

Phillip McKenzie was not required to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday.

It is alleged Mr McKenzie's vehicle crashed through the front room of a house in Pialba about 9.10pm on July 17 during a State of Origin match.

He is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving UIL, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving without a licence.

The 34-year-old appeared in court on July 18 and was remanded in custody.

Police said a 31-year-old woman and an infant were in the front room of the house in Olive Crt at the time of the crash and received minor injuries.

They were taken to Hervey Bay Hospital.
