Man hit by car after Booral buck's party turns violent

A PARTY at Booral has ended with a man being run over after a brawl in the front yard and police hunting for the driver.

Police were called to reports of a physical altercation between two men at a house on Shore Rd East in Booral at about 9pm on Friday after a party got out of hand.

Guests at what is believed to be a buck's party started fighting after an argument inside the home, eventually spilling outside.

A police spokeswoman said a man, believed to be involved in the fight, left in a vehicle but struck a 58-year-old man on the road while leaving, and continued driving.

Police later found the alleged offender's vehicle abandoned Booral Rd, but could not find the driver.

The 58-year-old man was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital for observation.

The police spokeswoman said the driver of the vehicle was still at large.

Police are continuing investigations.
