Man hit by car while trying to rescue injured koala

A MAN is in a critical condition in the Gold Coast Hospital after he was hit by a car at Tallebudgera on Wednesday night.

It is believed the man was attending to an injured koala on Guineas Creek Road when he was hit by the car about 7pm.

The Tugun man, 29, was transported to the Gold Coast Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Tallebudgera woman, aged in her 40s, who was driving the car, was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
