Man in serial stalking trial

A BAUPLE man who bombarded his ex-partner with text messages confessing his “undying love” has fronted the Maryborough Magistrates Court.

Rodney Scheuer allegedly committed 31 acts of stalking from August 13 to September 4 this year while there was a domestic violence and protection order against him.

The court heard he allegedly sent his ex texts containing messages such as “I love you” and “I miss you”.

One alleged incident involved Scheuer going to a Maryborough hospital – where his ex was about to undergo surgery – with flowers and chocolates.

Defence lawyer Jim Fairlie said his client – who had two previous breaches of domestic violence convictions on his history – meant no harm sending the text messages that “confessed his undying love” and the two had since “made peace”.

Magistrate John Smith committed Scheuer to the Maryborough District Court to have his stalking charge dealt with.

Mr Smith adjourned the remaining charge of breaching a domestic violence order to December 22.
