Man hurt as ute smashes through retirement village fence

A YOUNG man has been rushed to hospital after his dual cab ute ploughed through the fence of a Maryborough retirement village and ended up on its side on an Alice St footpath today.

Emergency crews worked to free the driver who was trapped for 45 minutes near the Tooley St intersection.

Police were interviewing witnesses and conducting traffic control at the scene.
