Man jailed for helping bride to be murderer

MARCUS Stanford was yesterday sentenced to one year and three months in jail for being an accessory after the fact to the murder of Leeton schoolteacher Stephanie Scott.

However, with time already served he will be eligible for release on September 9. His twin brother Vincent sexually assaulted and fatally stabbed Ms Scott at Leeton High School in NSW on Easter Sunday last year.

The 25-year-old (pictured being escorted by police) pleaded guilty earlier this year to being an accessory after the fact to Ms Scott's murder.
