Man may have spinal injury after off-road crash

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the aid of a man in his 40s with a possible spinal injury following a single vehicle rollover at Susan River between Maryborough and Hervey Bay.

A rescue helicopter spokeswoman said the man had been driving a modified car off-road when the vehicle rolled several times.

The spokeswoman said a friend who witnessed the incident made a call for help.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ CareFlight helicopter landed at the scene where its intensive care flight paramedic worked with ambulance paramedics to treat the man for a possible spinal injury.

He was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital by road in a serious but stable condition.
