Man set to fight stabbing charge

A HERVEY Bay man is expected to contest allegations that he stabbed a workmate with a pocket-knife last year.

Andrew Ian Sharman was charged with unlawful wounding on October 22 last year after allegedly attacking his 35-year-old workmate at an Urangan unit, causing wounds to his hands, head and body.

The charge was yesterday adjourned to next Friday in the Hervey Bay District Court.

Defence counsel Sarah Laikind withdrew from the case, citing that Sharman, 41, wanted to seek alternate legal representation.

Sharman, who is on bail, was expected to contest the charge.
