REVEALED: Who was the man involved in serious crash?

UPDATE 8.35am: THIS morning, the Department of Transport and Main Roads has confirmed the victim of a car crash yesterday near Banana was a RoadTek worker. 

"This is currently a police matter; however, we will also conduct our own investigation,"a spokesperson said. 

"The safety of road workers on road sites is paramount, we urge motorists to always drive with care."

The incident has been reported to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. 

UPDATE 5PM: The Workplace Health and Safety department of Queensland has announced they're investigating an incident where a man was hit by a vehicle on the Dawson Hwy this morning. 

"Queensland  Police Service remains the lead agency," a spokesperson said. 

There are reports the man involved was a RoadTek worker.

UPDATE 3PM: POLICE are investigating after a man was hit by a vehicle on the Dawson Hwy this morning. 

A Queensland Police spokesman said it appeared the man had stepped out onto the highway to inspect a concrete culvert when he was hit. 

There are reports the man involved was a RoadTek worker. 

He was rushed to Moura Hospital with serious injuries, including a skull fracture, before being airlifted by RACQ Capricorn Rescue Helicopter. 

UPDATE 11.55AM: A QUEENSLAND Ambulance Service spokeswoman has confirmed a man hit by a car near Biloela has been rushed to Moura Hospital to be airlifted by a rescue helicopter. 

She said the man suffered serious head injuries, multiple abrasions and a potential pelvic injury. 

"He has been taken to Moura Hospital in a serious condition," she said. 

UPDATE 11.30AM: A RESCUE chopper has been called to the scene of a serious pedestrian and car crash near Biloela where a man has suffered head injuries. 

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman confirmed fire crews were called to the scene at 10.45am and were assisting. 

She said the crash had occurred on the Dawson Highway, near the intersection of Valley View Drive. 

UPDATE 11.15AM: PARAMEDICS have arrived at the scene of a serious crash in the Biloela area. 

Reports suggest a man in his 50s has been hit by a car and has suffered a skull fracture. 

He is reportedly conscious and is being treated by paramedics on the roadway where the incident occurred. 

Police have been called to assist with traffic control, as the accident has occurred on a hazardous corner. 

It is not yet known if a helicopter will be tasked to attend. 

BREAKING 11AM: EMERGENCY services are responding to a crash in the Biloela area.

Reports suggest a man in his 50s has been hit by a car on the Dawson Hwy.

He has reportedly suffered a head injury, potential broken shoulder and potential broken wrist after being hit by the bullbar of a vehicle.
