Marveling at Steve Irwin's work in new Captain America movie

CAPTAIN America has some reading on Steve Irwin to catch up on.

Being frozen for 70 years puts hero Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America in the upcoming Marvel film Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in a unique position.

He's missed out on an awful lot of life, and he's determined to catch up on it according to a cheeky scene in the opening minutes of the film.

An interesting tidbit to emerge from a preview screening at Chermside Event cinemas on Monday night saw a brief mention of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.

A quick joke in the opening scene sees Steve Rogers pull out his 'to do' list - people, events, movies, music and more that he's missed over the past seven decades.

For Australia cinema goers, that list is a bit different to the one being seen in US and UK cinemas.

Steve Irwin was given a mention, as was AC/DC.

According to Slash Films, this brief scene is different depending where you are in the world.

UK screenings mention a listing for TV show Sherlock, while the US version has I Love Lucy.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is in Australian cinemas from Thursday April 3.
