Local schools on show at expo

STUDENTS from three of Maryborough's schools showed off their achievements at the Community and Disability Services Expo at Maryborough on Thursday.

The stall set up conjointly by Aldridge High's special education unit, Maryborough High's student services department and the Maryborough Special School showcased the student's artwork and the myriad activities they enjoy at school.

“We have a very successful program that uses art in the learning environment,” Maryborough Special School teacher aide Lindsay Caplick said.

“Another of our programs helps get our students into the workplace.

“We're here to show what we offer.”

A steady stream of people went through the expo at City Hall to check out the information on offer from community and non-profit organisations.

The annual expo also featured entertainment by the Kawungan Hot Whippers skipping team and the Maryborough Special School Bucketeers band.
