Maryborough home gutted by fire, cause not yet known

A MARYBOROUGH home has been gutted by a fire overnight.

Two crews of firefighters were called to the home on Kent St at about 12:40am on Friday.

QFRS station officer Dennis Pamenter said crews were not sure of a cause or where the fire had started yet.

He said the two-story Queenslander had been gutted inside.

Mr Pamenter said the main crew left the house at about 2:45am, while another firefighter was onsite until about 6am.

The fire did not threaten any nearby homes.
