Maryborough product O'Hanlon retained by Black Sticks

HOCKEY: Former Maryborough Brothers junior Grace O'Hanlon has retained her place in New Zealand Black Sticks' squad.

The goalkeeper has earned 38 caps for New Zealand since she moved across the Tasman in January, 2017.

She grabbed the hockey world's attention when after her shoot-out heroics in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games semi final win against England, before NZ won its first Games gold medal with victory against Australia.

O'Hanlon is one of three goalkeepers in the 25-player squad, alongside 170-cap veteran Sally Rutherford and international newcomer Brooke Roberts (four caps).

The Black Sticks will next play the Netherlands in January, ahead of the first FIH Pro League.
