Maryborough quartet on rep hockey duty

HOCKEY: Four rising Maryborough Hockey stars will represent Queensland at two major events next week.

Diarmid Chappell and Ryley Kroning will play for Queensland in the School Sport Australia 16 Years and Under Boys Hockey Championships at the Gold Coast Hockey Centre, the same place former Maryborough Brothers junior Grace O'Hanlon won her Commonwealth Games gold medal for the Black Sticks.

Chappell and Kroning will start their national title campaign against New South Wales on Sunday morning.

Laird McKay and Trent Goldenstein have both been named in the under-19s team to tour New Zealand.
