VIDEO: Maryborough’s show and shine will go on rain or shine

HOT rods are revved up and ready to go at the Maryborough showgrounds where more than 150 car lovers are enjoying their annual Easter campout ahead of Sunday's family fun day.

Hosted by Conrodders Hervey Bay, the North Coast Campout raises money for charity and gives car enthusiasts the chance to celebrate wheels of all shapes and sizes.

A mystery poker run will be held on Sunday and finish up somewhere in Hervey Bay with a parade down the Esplanade between 12.30-1pm.

Families are invited to head to the showgrounds on Sunday from 9am for the Show and Shine Extravaganza.

Conrodders Hervey Bay President Patrick Goodall said there would be food stands, bouncing castles and "of course, lots and lots of cars".

The public will vote for the top 10 cars and there will be plenty of prizes handed out at 1pm.

Mr Goodall said members had been lucky with the weather so far and he hoped it would hold out for the weekend but in any event, the "show will go on rain, hail or snow".
